INNERpreneurship And YOU

Innerpreneurship

One of the attendees from my educational I presented – Dawn of the INNERpreneur – at our Toastmasters Spring Convention wrote ” … felt that workplace was presented in a very depressing light … “. Feedback, both good and bad is good. I enjoy it. Having worked for several companies I can now understand the growth of innerpreneurship, as it allows the individual to follow their interests and aspirations.

Quite honestly, not all workplaces are dead-end jobs and growth-less. Many are very good! My message was simply, “ Be aware to changing tides in the workplace so you are not left high and dry. Ensure your personal growth and development needs/goals are being met “. So, to the attendee from above, ” Don’t Quit Your Job !

Being an INNERpreneurs means promoting social change. It starts when you want personal growth for yourself and a means of starting social change.

So … is INNERpreneurship for everyone ?

Let’s see …

  • If you stand to inherit your Dad’s business …
  • Have a government or civic pension …
  • Own & run your own company …
  • Have a contract as an executive with a lavish parachute bonus & exit strategy, even if you screw up …
  • Already earn a high 6 or 7 figure salary …
  • Are either Richard Branson, Bill Gates, Warren Buffet or the like …
  • If you are sitting on an eventual huge inheritance …
  • Don’t mind sucking up to your superior(s) at work …
  • Believe your company will take care of you …
  • Believe your investment(s) will support your latter years …
  • You feel you can continue to grow at your day job …
  • Were promised a BIG promotion at work …
  • Told that as long as you work hard and be dedicated, you will have a secure place with your company …

hhhmmm … then … NO … You don’t need to become an innerpreneur, or adopt INNERpreneurial practises into your life.

Just close this browser window … and go golfing – enjoy life !

To be fair, the above doesn’t preclude an individual from still persuing their INNERpreneurship. And there are still jobs where people are very happy.

I don’t mean to paint a picture of “doom and gloom” 😉 – Just want to ensure people realize their FULL potential.

Before you decide if you are an optimist or a pessimist …  be a realist first !
