Soft Skills Learning
Soft Skills are planted and take root in our early years. And learning is a wonderful experience, whether formal educational, training programs, or letting real-world scenarios teach you, through your trial and error; learning through experience.
A bit about me - I Am A Fixer - Not that I am the answer-man.
I began life as a kid, wanting to know how things work - mechanical things - as I was surrounded by industrious people in a farming community - many with self-taught, hands-on learning skills - some of which were post-war immigrants newly settled in Canada. Now, these people were absolutely amazing all-around with their skills, their humor, their philanthropic ideals where "you help me and I will help you" with NO money being exchanged - strictly as a good neighbor giving back.
As I grew, I studied electronics engineering and how electronics in general worked. Eventually, I expanded into data analytics, mining data, and designing process flows to ensure we as users of a process tool do not falter and create errors. Whether documents, programs, or processes, I always injected my newest learnings into them.
Finally, I graduated into that never-ending sea of learning. You guessed it - PEOPLE - and hence this, my Soft Skills website - sharing and helping others to learn how to hone their soft skills so they can be more productive, efficient, and successful.
Today, much of what I curate and publish on this website is my real-life experiences involving soft skills, some even in the current tense, carefully removing names or details to protect the innocent, as it is not my intent to criticize others but to share what I learned about myself and others in that learning experience.
Watch my 5-minute video intro where I talk about the above in - "I Am A Fixer" - by clicking the image below.
I did this short talk as a fun, self-deprecating chuckle at myself as I still manage to drive myself crazy in anal ways where I beat something to death, to fully understand how it works and why.
Below I hope to take some of the pain away from you by sharing my experience to save you time and make you productive faster.
I take what I learned from all my experiences and create mentoring articles such as those below.
These will help you with your soft skills challenges.
